“Outburst: Virginia TNT” !
This will continue to be a full weekend fall retreat, but with a renewed focus that aligns directly with the heart of TNT at Trevecca—encouraging students to use the gifts and talents God has placed inside of them… to let them OUTBURST, rather than keep them hidden.

Outburst: Virginia TNT is a Fall Retreat at the Virginia Nazarene Retreat Center for students in Grades 6th – 12th!
The vision with Outburst is to give students oppurtunities to share their God-given gifts & talents AND to discover how those gifts can be used for Kingdom work.

Outburst helps students become better disciples of Jesus through the relationships they build with other students and leaders throughout the weekend.

Outburst builds fellowship among all who participate and builds a spirit of unity among the students of Virginia NYI.

Outburst emphasizes the truth that each person is equal in God’s sight and has the same obligation to discover, develop and share the gifts and talents God has given them in every way possible.

What is TNT?
TNT stands for Top Nazarene Talent. The event brings Nazarene youth and their church leaders together to participate in a variety of special competitive events at the Virginia Nazarene Retreat Center.
Connection to Trevecca Nazarene University
Outburst directly connects to TNT at Trevecca Nazarene University as students will have opportunities to qualify for competitions and go on to represent the Virginia District at the Southeast NYI event. TNT is an incredible opportunity for students to use their gifts in music, art, sports, academics, and more—all while growing deeper in their walk with Christ. Pastors Tim and Heather Sluss currently serve at Leesburg Church of the Nazarene as the Youth Pastors. Tim & Heather previously directed Megafest and FOL @ ENC from 2018-2021 and were appointed to serve as the Virginia District TNT Coordinators in 2025. This role serves to connect the Virginia TNT event and the TNT @ Trevecca Nazarene University event!

Check-In: 5pm - 7pm on Friday, November 20 (NO DINNER THE FIRST NIGHT!)

CANCELLATIONS done on or after Sunday, November 15th will be subject to a $50 cancellation fee.

What should I pack?

Appropriate activewear (for students participating in sports events)

It's my first time at Outburst: Virginia TNT.
What should I expect?
If you're a student, get ready for a Fall Retreat like no other! We’re all about fun, growth, and connection. Expect epic competitions like basketball, dodgeball, chess, video games, and an awesome talent show. This year, our competition teams will be pre-assigned to help us build a strong sense of community from the get-go. Remember, this retreat is what you make of it—come with a positive attitude, be ready to dive into new experiences, and enjoy the moments we create together!
If you're a leader, get ready to jump in and serve! Your role is crucial! You’ll help make the retreat memorable by supporting various activities, from overseeing competitions to guiding and encouraging our students. We’ll need your flexibility and enthusiasm to keep things running smoothly and ensure everyone has a blast. Your involvement helps make this retreat a success, and we couldn’t do it without your support!

What about safety? Is there a minor protection policy?
Yes, we have a Minor Protection Policy in place. You can read it here. All our adult leaders on the grounds are background checked and trained on sexual abuse awareness. We take the safety and wellbeing of our young people very seriously. We have a safety team that will help us throughout the week.
